British Factories Turn Out the Latest Women's Fashions

المعامل البريطانية تنتج الازياء النسائية الحديثة

No sooner had the Second World War laid down its burdens than the factories of Britain began converting, with all possible speed, to the production of goods of every kind, to meet the hundreds of thousands of renewed orders lying with their managements from every quarter of the inhabited world — after having been cut off from their world markets almost completely during the six years of the war, which led to a rise in orders as a result of the shortage, or the void, that had come upon civilian consumers.

Whoever visits the British factories today will affirm that they are in earnest about production, after great improvements have been introduced into them, and after fundamental improvements have been introduced into many industrial products, such as will raise the standard of living among consumers of all classes and add to their comfort.

The textile factories lately displayed, at certain fashion shows in London, models of elegant women's fashions made of nylon, such that they rival the most sumptuous silken or woolen dress. The experts affirm that nylon will play an important part in the manufacture of elegant textiles — perhaps surpassing the part played by natural silk and wool.
