A Series of Lectures

سلسلة محاضرات

The American Junior College for Women has organized a series of lectures for this year, begun on Tuesday evening, February 19, with a lecture by the eminent teacher Mrs. Roberts on the subject of introducing Japan. She gave the listeners a charming and profound picture of Japan in all its aspects, so that the listeners came away as though they had visited Japan themselves and become acquainted with the most important traits of its people, their mentalities, and their history.

The following lectures fall in this order:

Mr. Charles Campbell spoke on "Questions of International Economics" on February 26. Dr. Salwa Nassar, "Physics and Medicine," on March 5 at eight in the evening. Mr. Rushdi Ma'alouf, "Our Culture between the Politics of Curricula and the Curricula of Politics," on March 12 at eight in the evening. Mr. Najib Sadaqa, "What We Need from Western Thought." And the final session will be a comprehensive artistic evening in which a number of musicians, painters, poets, and other men of art will take part, with an artistic introduction by Mr. Rushdi Ma'alouf.
