○ "Dar al-Kitab" has established an agency for itself in Palestine and Transjordan, with its headquarters in Haifa and its present address: Acre, under the management of Mr. Khazin Abboud.

It has thus become easier for the readers and subscribers of "The Woman's Voice" in Palestine and Transjordan to correspond with this agency in all financial and administrative matters.

○ Mr. Rouh Shakhashiri has published in Egypt a booklet entitled "3 Months in Lebanon." He has kindly presented "The Woman's Voice" with a copy of it. It contains a collection of Lebanese songs in both the colloquial and the literary tongue, together with beautiful pictures and views of Lebanon.

Mr. Rouh Shakhashiri is a Lebanese from Anfeh. He is the brother of Dr. Zaki Shakhashiri, and one of our cultivated young men of whom we are proud.

○ An oversight occurred in the fifth verse of the poem "The Lost Rendezvous," which "The Woman's Voice" published for Mr. Youssef al-Khal in its last issue. The verse should read thus:

Upon the breadth of a high, swelling bosom
that glowed, so that its summits turned crimson

○ The Lebanese Ministry of Justice has proposed the abrogation of the former High Commissioner's decree requiring men of religion to submit statements of the marriage contracts they perform, within one month of the date of the marriage.

It has referred to the Council of Ministers a new bill in this regard, providing for the reduction of the period to five days only.

○ We have received from the Lebanese Women's League a statement about the kindergarten attached to it, in which the following appears:
(1) The kindergarten opens its doors for the admission of children on Monday, October 14, 1946, and closes its doors on Tuesday, June 24, 1947. (2) The kindergarten admits children from the age of three to the age of six. The installments are paid in two payments, the first upon entering the kindergarten and the second in the first week of February 1947. (3) The annual fee is one hundred and fifty Lebanese liras. (4) The handiwork fee at the kindergarten is five liras yearly for each child. (5) The kindergarten doctor's fee is five liras yearly for each child. (6) The kindergarten provides a car to transport the children, for an additional fee. (7) Each child is asked to bring the following necessities: a towel, a comb, and a drinking cup. (8) The League has authorized Miss Eleanor Qamar to register those who wish to enroll.

○ The response to the contest "Teach Your Child to Draw," published in the last issue of "The Woman's Voice," was very great indeed, and we shall publish the result of the contest in the coming issue.

○ The ladies of the Lebanese Red Cross held two dances: the first at the Jbeili Hotel in Aley, under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic; and the second at the Kassouf Hotel in Dhour el-Choueir, presided over by His Excellency the Prime Minister. Both parties met with great success, thanks to the activity of the ladies of the Red Cross, who labor in the cause of charity and of suffering humanity.

○ Last week the wedding was celebrated of the notable Mr. Nadim Majdalani to the charming Miss Janine, daughter of the surgeon Dr. Rebeiz. The bride and groom have left Lebanon for Paris to spend their honeymoon.
