• A great throng of the friends of Dr. Hanna al-Shammas and Mr. Mikhail Mufarrij gathered in Tripoli to celebrate the marriage of their children, Miss Najla Shammas and Mr. Nadim Mufarrij. The celebration was one of the happy occasions of the season. May God prosper the noble couple.

• We have learned with pleasure of the birth of the beloved child Hanna Nicola al-Khoury, firstborn of his parents, Mrs. Frosine and Mr. Nicola al-Khoury of Fih, in the Koura. May God make him one of the sons of well-being.

• A baby girl, their firstborn, has been born to Mrs. Lucie Haidar and to Mr. Joseph, her husband, of Fih. May God preserve her and make her a delight to her parents' eyes.

• We have learned from Cairo that Mr. Joseph Abdo Abou Jaoude, the well-known merchant and owner of the "Joseph Abou Jaoude Travel Bureau" in Beirut and Cairo, has become engaged to the refined Miss Widad, daughter of the notable Ibrahim al-Ghossein, at a charming family party on Saturday evening, September 21. We wish them the fullness of joys.

• Last September in Chekka the marriage was celebrated of the generous Dr. Hasib Barbar to the cultivated Miss Layla, daughter of Dr. George Saba. May they have prosperity and sons.
