Childhood, in the life of the rising generation, must be tended with extra care, for upon it depends the founding of the child's constitution — physical, mental, and moral. In this
period the twig is tender, and the disposition more receptive than at any other time to impressions of lasting effect upon the future. The first signs of this care began to appear in the country's sky when the Lebanese Women's League arose and founded the kindergarten, which has gone a long way in the field of rearing our dear little ones and fitting them for the better life by planting good habits from the tenderest age.
The methods of child care fall into two divisions: the first concerns the nurseries and covers care of the child from the hour of his birth until his third year; the second, which is called the kindergarten, rests on a school curriculum and runs from the second year to the fifth.
We are pleased to set down here some pictures showing the curriculum followed at the St. Leonard's school in England.
