Motherhood in Hollywood

الأمومة في هوليوود

The first thing that comes to mind, from what we know of the lives of the stars in Hollywood, is that these stars pay no attention whatever to that great social institution which is the family.

In fact, what thus comes to mind is exaggerated. For there are in Hollywood stars at the very summit of fame and glory who keep an exemplary family life such as we rarely find in any other circle.

Perhaps the stars most attached to the family bond and to social traditions in this respect are Joan Crawford, of whom we said something in the last issue, Betty Grable, Hedy Lamarr, and Jane Wyman. And this last, perhaps, surpasses her colleagues in the matter.

The reader will see a picture, presented to us by the Beirut agency of the Warner Brothers film company, showing Mrs. Jane Wyman celebrating her daughter's fifth birthday. She has also drawn her elder daughter close to her, in warm parental tenderness.
