Greetings and respect. To proceed: I am one of those who esteem your magazine most highly and who believe in the mission it carries for the enlightenment of woman in the East; and I am certain that you aim to supply your readers with accurate news about the things they take pleasure in reading. On that account, the news of the film stars published in the May 1947 issue, page 35, is very good and benefits the readers — especially those who want to know something about the actors and actresses whom they see almost every week on the silver screen and applaud so warmly. But how great was my astonishment when I read, in the third column of page 35, this item:

"Audrey Totter is expert at the taxidermy of animals and birds, and he is a brilliant specialist in this matter."

I was left perplexed, for I know perfectly well that Audrey Totter is a lady. I said to myself that The Woman's Voice publishes accurate news — but that I must consult the cinema magazines to make certain of the matter. And I found that you had committed a great error, one not permissible in refined magazines such as yours. So I resolved to write you these words to draw your attention to it, for I am jealous for the good name of your magazine, especially as it is the only one of its kind in this country.

I beg you, then, to go back to the source from which you took this news item, so devoid of truth, and to correct this mistake, which must not appear in a refined magazine like yours. Enclosed in this envelope you will find three proofs showing that Audrey Totter is a woman and not a man, as you stated. Please accept my respects, and long life to you, my dear sir.
