What Are You Hiding in Your Bosom?

What are you hiding in your bosom? Are you hiding two withered, sagging breasts, or two youthful breasts brimming with health and vigor?

Neither age nor childbirth will touch your breasts with withering and sagging, if you know how to care for them. And the artificial devices you use, such as the brassiere and the like, are but deceptions of the eye which reality soon lays bare.

If you wish to have full breasts, you have only to persist in washing them in the morning with cold water, in summer and winter alike, and to persist in physical exercise and in walking in the open air with your head held high, your steps measured, your back straight.

Still, the brassiere is indispensable to you, on

condition that you know how to use it. If your breasts are small, lift them up with it and leave them freedom of movement. If they are of medium size, do not be ashamed of them; rather support them a little from below and let them stand out forward. But if your breasts are large, do not resort to scanty eating, for that harms them gravely; choose for them instead a special brassiere, and wear those fashions which draw the eye's attention away from them. For you know, no doubt, what effect the cut of a dress has in showing off the beauties of the figure or hiding its faults. That is a subject in itself, of which we may perhaps speak to you on a coming occasion. It is enough now to advise you to consult your dressmaker — if that dressmaker is

one of those who have studied the principles of the art of dressmaking in the institutes, or have practiced it by native gift. Hence the cut of a dress has an importance far exceeding its material, its kind, or the costliness of its price. Take care, then, in choosing your dressmaker, as you take care in choosing the colors of your clothes and their material.

And you must persist in physical exercise, and likewise in rubbing your breasts always with lukewarm water and soap, always followed by cold water.

These, Madam, are the most important observations; if you follow them, you will be able to preserve your breasts from withering and sagging.
