You, in Your Handwriting

انت في خطك

Professor Psychologique has decided to take a new title: 'Astrologique.' Its meaning in Arabic is 'astrologer.' You may therefore write to him, so that he may show you, this time, what the future holds in store for you.

The conditions are the same, only the following must be added to them: 1) date of birth, with year, month, day, hour, and minute if possible; 2) color of complexion; 3) the parents' names; 4) place of birth; 5) occupation; 6) your hopes for the future. For the remaining conditions, consult past issues of 'The Woman's Voice.'

Replies from 'Astrologique' are sent personally by post. Kindly write the address clearly. No reply will be sent unless the request is accompanied by the price of a year's subscription to the magazine.

Robert S. (Marjayoun)
You do not hold fast to one opinion. Yet this inconstancy of yours is joined to an ordered, conscious will.
A little earnestness and a little reflection will repay you well. Do not ask of life more than it can give you, and receive your days as they are, not as you would wish them to be... In that way you will spare yourself many troubles.

M. Kh. (Hadath, Beirut)
A complicated, tortuous nature. Selfish: she loves herself and cares nothing for others. Yet she has qualifications enough to make her succeed in life, if she knew how to seize the right moment.
You are already loved, and you do not notice it — or you do notice it, and do not wish to appear the one who knows everything.

F. H. (Hadath, Beirut)
No easy temperament. You care nothing for others and, more than that, you take pleasure in giving others pain.
You will come to know true love through a marriage close at hand. Journeys in the future.

Gh. M. (Beirut)
You conceal everything from strangers and confide everything to intimates. Steadfast in her friendship: once she befriends, she befriends forever...
Her word is a word of honor; with her, a word ranks as an oath...
Therefore her heart will love only once, and will belong only to the chosen beloved, for the length of her life.

N. Kh. (Majdoun)
An outgoing and well-loved nature. She loves the world greatly and has launched herself into its current... For that reason she strives to 'attract notice' and to forget...

You must think long before marriage.

Ibtisam H. (Beirut)
A free, unfettered temperament. She seeks to play with the other sex... for that reason they have caught her in the snare... but she too has caught many in a snare of another kind...
A wealthy marriage to a foreigner.

F. Kh. (Jerusalem)
Precise in her nervous sensibility; she loves what is lofty... Sincere. A heart brimming with good desires. She wants to do good, and would gladly offer her heart as a sacrifice for it... She inclines toward the religious life...
You will accept marriage as a matter of duty.
A violent inward reaction will arise in you against the world and against its ways and customs...

S. H. (Latakia)
A temperament out of the ordinary. Women and men alike seek your company. An abundant mind, but one needing work and effort before it yields abundantly.
A difficult marriage, but it will succeed in any case.

A. H. (Beirut)
Inquisitive, yet amiable. You love innocent play... So beware of this play: not all people are as innocent as you suppose... and it is by no means certain that the one who knew how to read you so carefully at play will be a husband to you... and...

H. J. (Beirut)
Withdrawn into yourself. Sometimes obscure and hard to understand. But you know what you want, and you know the goal you are aiming at...

W. N. (Beirut)
A free temperament to the utmost degree. She has the charm of coquetry and the magnetism of the female... but she may be approached only from afar...

A sudden marriage causing certain complications — though you will be happy and envied.

L. L. (Beirut)
Calm of temperament; she watches herself closely. A broad mind. A generous hand. But where love is concerned she is exceedingly wary and reckons the risks a thousand times over, for she will not sell her heart. For that reason her marriage will be one of great esteem and honor.

M. Z. (Dik el-Mehdi)
A mixed temperament, in the sense that its owner likes to display what pleases people and hide away what does not; for that reason it is to be feared she may grow self-important, without any cause to justify such self-importance. Yet she is, besides, faithful in her dealings with others, and her heart is kind. You must direct your will in a way that assures you success, and not surrender too much to fancies, for they are driven along an unsafe road. A marriage of middling circumstance, yet successful to the utmost degree.

Hind H. A. (Dik el-Mehdi)
A nervous temperament inclining to pride, content with nothing less than command. For that reason she likes to be distinguished — in the sense of superior to others. But she wearies herself greatly in dominating others. This manner of domination and desire for superiority may not serve you in your private relations; yet it may perhaps serve you in the other spheres of life.

Ra'ida Dajani (Jerusalem)
A free temperament, unaffected by others. Your indifference to love has brought and still brings upon you the mockery of men. Yet you remain always a woman of attraction and of danger. In any case you must not despair over it. A reckless marriage...

J. W. S. (Zahle)
An immoderate temperament, and she draws men by this excessive moderation; for that reason it is to be feared she may fall into unpraiseworthy errors. Let her take care! Your marriage will be a love marriage, and it will prosper if you know how to keep clear of errors.

J. A. (Deir ez-Zor)
A somewhat practical temperament; it loves order and loves the family atmosphere. You sometimes go too far in your judgments of others... You must not be excessive in anything, neither with yourself nor with others... That is no good road to marriage, nor to the good life.

R. L. (Beirut)
A temperament without complication. She is frank and not withdrawn, which causes her some difficulty in her private life. The sincerity of your feeling and the nobility of your sentiment cannot ward off from you the troubles that face you and are woven about you... So keep away from these troubles.
