The Inauguration of Khalde Airport

Khalde Airport, which the Lebanese government is preparing to be a great international airport, was inaugurated in the presence of His Excellency the President, Sheikh Beshara El-Khouri.

The Following Word Has Reached Us

Before leaving Lebanon, we feel it our duty to express our sincere appreciation to the Abou Jaoude travel office (Youssef Abdo Abou Jaoude).

Today we have completed a tour of ten days, made through this office and by its arrangement, during which we visited Lebanon and some of the Syrian regions.

We were the object of every attention and were treated with all courtesy; the management of this office bears its own particular stamp of genuinely good treatment, and that is of great importance to foreign visitors.

The charge which this office took from us, amounting to £2 and 600 mills per person per day, and covering hotel charges and transport, together with the guide's fee, is very modest indeed. This can only mean that the owner of this office has it at heart to make publicity for Lebanon. Those in charge of this office are proud to give visitors the enjoyment of Lebanon's beauty. And from our hearts we could wish that this office would spread its activity into all the countries of the world, so that others besides ourselves might profit from its good treatment and excellent service.

Now that we are about to return, we are sorry to leave this country, and we feel a pang at the mere thought of it, for it has offered us the best it has.

What Hearts Conceal

The sins of women are three:

• The sin of a woman with no husband and no children

• The sin of a woman with a husband

• The sin of a woman with a husband and mother of children

And were all the sins of the earth gathered together, they would not equal the sin of the third woman.

This sin has been painted in the most splendid colors and the finest telling in the story:

A Mother's Sin
