The armies of the Arabs are all in the field, in the very heart of the battle of heroism, honor, and glory. And what glory is this, which the Arab brigades achieve for the first time in modern history, in the first battle that right leads against crime... It may be the first battle in all of history in whose train right marches alone — no conquest and no aggression, no invasion and no slander — but only a band of outcast criminals whom the world has spat out; and Arab right has come to speak its word upon this band.
Today Arab right speaks its word, terrible and mighty; it speaks it with blood and fire, with sweat and tears... it speaks it with the noble sacrifices of Arab youth.
It speaks it today, so that history may say that the Arabs did not turn coward before the tyranny that partitioned their lands and left them prey to sinful gangs that rip open the bellies of pregnant women, violate the honor of free women, and slaughter children in their mothers' arms.
How we longed for it, that hour when the hosts poured forth from the gates of the Arab lands, that we might proclaim to mankind that we shall not be sparing of the blood with which we stain the face of the earth for the sake of Palestine, and that we shall not sit like old women in corners, slapping our cheeks and rending our garments, waiting for the delegations of mourners to console us in our calamity...
The ordeal of Palestine was no ordeal, nor was it a catastrophe; it was one of the wedding feasts of heroism in history. And it shall be nothing else!...
O mothers of the Arabs' young men, O their wives, and O their sweethearts!
Today it is your right to be proud, for today you are the mothers of heroes, the wives of heroes, and the sweethearts of heroes.
And O beloved armies, on the beloved soil of Palestine, every rib of ours is a pillow for your ribs.
And O God—
The armies of the Arabs are in the field; O God, grant victory to the armies of the Arabs.
And death to the Zionists.
And glory to Palestine.
