The Kindergarten

روضة الاطفال

The "Kindergarten" of the Lebanese Women's League invited the Beirut public to attend its annual party on the twenty-second of June.

The party opened with the Lebanese anthem; then the nursery children presented assorted songs in Arabic, French, and English. How lovely those children were in their embroidered clothes and their delightful dances... and how splendid and beautiful was the "Dance of Spring" presented by the children of the first grade and the kindergarten.

The audience was delighted to hear piano solos by some of the children. The kindergarten's administration had prepared an exhibition of the children's handwork, in which there was much artistic taste and arrangement — a thing that shows plainly the artistic training the kindergarten fosters in its children. The kindergarten in Beirut is among the noblest works that the Lebanese Women's League has given to Lebanon; for in this elegant, clean kindergarten the Lebanese child finds a clean atmosphere, in spirit and in body — which is what our children need in their earliest years.

Tomorrow people will know that the kindergarten of the Lebanese Women's League was the first stone in the homeland's new edifice...

May God ever bless the hands that rear our children in an atmosphere of love and beauty.
