It was after presiding over the Lebanese Delegation to the Congress of Arab Music in Cairo in 1932 that Mr. W. Sabra undertook a series of studies on Arab music. The most important reviews hastened to publish them, the principal ones being: the Revue de la S.I.A.M.F. of February 1933, "The Origins of the Tempered Scale"; Le Courrier Musical of October 15, 1934,
which published his comparative study of the great musical systems in use among the Hindus, the
Chinese, the Arabs, the peoples of the West, as well as those of ancient Greece; the Revue d'Acoustique, which published in January 1936 "The Trial of the Minor Scale"; Le Guide Musical
of November 1935, "The Music of Ancient Greece".

So fine and yet so strong,
