The present age is characterized by a rapid women's awakening the world over. Women of today aspire for the building of a better world which is ever reaching for perfection, unmotivated by selfish interests or personal glory or fame. Their aim is to promote equality among the people. Thus, when the woman of to-day plans to hold conferences and comes crossing the long distances overcoming the many difficulties that lie before her, she does so only that she may greet the women of other countries in the name of brotherhood, that she may unify aims and purposes, that she may sanctify the higher values of life which alone can uphold man and make him worthy of that Godly part in him.

To the distinguished Delegates in these conferences I wish to extend my greetings and respects. I wish them a happy sojourn in our peaceful Lebanon, and a congenial atmosphere conducive to the realization of their aims.
