And we shall redouble our efforts on this subject; moreover, we welcome every article Miss Hamida may send concerning these studies.

• Returning from the Mahjar — from Iowa, in the United States — is the honorable emigrant Mr. Sami Hanna Elias, after an absence of 58 years. He is staying as a guest with his daughter, and Mr. Sami will spend a few months among his family and kin, then return afterward to his business and his farms in the United States.

• The respected Mrs. Ellen Rihan, one of the leaders of the women's renaissance in Lebanon, has returned from her social tour of North America, where she traveled with her husband, Dr. Habib Rihan. The Woman's Voice, which appreciates Mrs. Rihan's efforts in the women's field and her kindness toward this magazine, welcomes the gracious lady and her husband the Doctor.

• Following the publication of our recent word in the Talk of the Month about the Beirut tramway, certain worthy ladies have asked us to draw the government's attention once more to the electricity company — which is the very same tramway company. One of these ladies says that the light in her home is so weak that a full six hundred candlepower scarcely gives any light at all. So the tramway company and the electricity company are both in the same boat.

The gracious Mrs. Najla Saab and the honorable Saab family rejoiced at the marriage of her son Raja Saab to the well-bred Miss Afaf Saab.

The bride and groom returned from America at the end of this summer. To the honorable House of Saab, our congratulations, and our best wishes to the newlyweds.

• Owing to the summer holiday, we neglected to mention the wedding of Mr. Elie Khoury of Beirut to the charming Miss Renée Gharzouzi.

The ceremony took place at the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation in the presence of a large gathering of family and friends, in an atmosphere of joy and gladness. To the bride and groom, our congratulations.

• In the last issue, the name of Mrs. Elvira Salim Joseph, bride of Mr. Nadim al-Khal, was inadvertently omitted.

We are pleased to repeat our congratulations once again to the honorable newlyweds.

• God has blessed the wife of the notable Naim Majdalani with a baby boy, whom they have named "Hasib." To little Hasib, a happy life in the shelter of his family and their honorable home.

• Mr. Victor Abdo and his brother Mr. Emile Abdo returned to Lebanon this summer from the Gold Coast, after an absence of 15 years. They are staying as guests in the home of their sister, Mrs. Vicky Saad, wife of Mr. Victor Saad. The Woman's Voice wishes the returning travelers a happy stay.
