At the Cinema: Esther Williams

Esther Williams is distinguished from other stars of the cinema by health of body and of spirit, acquired from her athletic life and her practice of swimming and all manner of games in the open air; and this health of hers shows plainly in her outlook on life and in her frankness and honesty in her dealings with people.

Esther Williams, the world's queen of swimming, is busy these days, together with her beloved husband Ben Gage, laying their plans for a flourishing future. What occupies them most is the idea of building a house overlooking the sea, in which Esther will set apart a special wing for children, in readiness for the happy event!

Yes! It is her dearest wish to have a winning child, as her husband was in his childhood. Will she succeed, and will her wish come true? As for Ben, her husband, he is confident within himself that in the future he will have a beautiful little daughter who will surpass her mother in swimming and beauty!

Esther's appearance in the film "Neptune's Daughter" raised her to the summit of the world of the cinema, and she suddenly found that her small fortune had become, overnight, a great one, enabling her to secure a contented, comfortable living... and that beside a husband whom she worships — so why should she not be happy?
