• Mrs. Adele Suleiman Elias, one of Lebanon's outstanding ladies across the seas, presides in the state of Iowa over several American women's associations, and carries on a great deal of women's activity to make Lebanon known, in its beautiful aspect, to the ladies of American society.
Mrs. Adele has written to us saying that when American women's circles saw the issues of the magazine "The Woman's Voice," which it publishes in its three languages, they expressed boundless admiration that woman in Lebanon should accomplish so distinguished an effort in production, printing, and subject matter.
Last month the marriage was celebrated of Miss Widad, daughter of the great man of letters Mr. Michel Abu Shahla, owner of "al-Jumhur," to Mr. Skandar Simaan.
The wedding was the delight of the season, where the pick of society gathered — ladies and young ladies of Beirut's upper class. It also brought together a number of ministers, friends of the owner of al-Jumhur, countrymen and for
eigners alike, and a company of men of business, politics, and the press.
To the two gracious newlyweds our congratulations, and our sincere wishes that they may enjoy a life of comfort and plenty.
• The rejoicings were completed in the Jaroudi family with the marriage of their daughter, the highly refined Miss Nadima Jaroudi, to the polished young man Bashir Rawwas, on Saturday, December 10. After a short tour through the hills of Lebanon, the bride and groom left for Europe, where they will spend their honeymoon between Italy and France. The magazine The Woman's Voice extends its congratulations to the honorable Jaroudi family, wishing the newlyweds lasting happiness and glory.
• In Tripoli the marriage was celebrated of the literary young man Mr. Musa Nicola Sulayman to the charming Miss Najiba Khoury, in a family gathering that brought together kin and relations.
After the crowning ceremony the bride and groom departed to spend the sweet days of honey in one of the green corners of Lebanon. And we, while wishing the two young newlyweds a happy family life, hope that the groom's cousin, Mr. Musa Khalil Sulayman, may succeed in finding his other half, so that the rejoicings in the family may be complete.
• There took place in Beirut the wedding of Miss Salwa Farid Bustani to the respected Mr. George Owayshiq of Damascus, in an atmosphere of joy, gladness, and flowers that enveloped the two families at the happy wedding.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon amid the beautiful Syrian countryside. May God bless them and make their life a happy one.
