Last February was celebrated the wedding crowning of the refined Miss Hilda Fghawar to Mr. Emile Khoury, one of the great merchants of the Mahjar, at a sumptuous ceremony attended by the friends of the bridal couple.
The crowning ceremony was blessed by His Grace Metropolitan Elia Karam, assisted by the Protosyncellus Antonios Bechara and the Exarch Youssef al-Jammal.
After the crowning, the newlyweds set off to spend their honeymoon in the Lebanese countryside.
Mr. Kamal al-Yaziji and his wife, the sister of the groom, gave a reception in honor of the bridal couple at her home in Ras Beirut, where friends flocked to congratulate the young newlyweds.
On February 19 last took place the wedding of Miss Alma Haddad to the young Choucri Sirri, assistant manager of the Socony company in Damascus.
Miss Haddad, one of our refined young ladies, has been for the past three years among the finest teachers in the kindergarten of the Lebanese Women's League. The wedding celebration was confined to the family. Afterward the newlyweds set out for Sidon, and from there toured the Syrian lands, to return afterward to their new home in Damascus.
