The Juveniles' Entertainment Committee's Party

The Juveniles' Entertainment Committee, attached to the Lebanese Association for Public Health, continues to seek out every occasion to entertain children in their leisure hours... And on the occasion of World Health Day, which falls on April 7, this committee held its second public party in the hall of West Hall.

The chief items on the program were a spring dance, presented by a troupe of children from the kindergarten of the Lebanese Women's League; athletic health songs and Swedish exercises, presented by the elementary school of the American University of Beirut; the flower dance of the Ras Beirut Evangelical School; recitations of verse by the Child Welfare House; and more... Interspersed through the program were health films, well chosen to spread the principles of health and the ways of guarding against disease by positive means; the films were accompanied by a commentary in simple language, to make them easy to grasp and clear in the children's minds.

All eyes were drawn to a troop of 'Jaramiz' — the child scouts — who were entrusted with keeping order at the party... and they proved themselves fully equal to bearing this arduous responsibility.
