A Fashion Show at the Party of the Hospital Women's Auxiliary

عرض ازياء في حفلة شعبة المستشفى النسائية

The Women's Auxiliary of the American University Hospital has made it a custom to hold a dance every year, the proceeds of which are set aside to help poor patients whose material circumstances do not allow them to benefit from the hospital. This year, however, the Auxiliary turned to a new activity: it entrusted Madame "Jenny" with a showing of the very latest fashions for 1951, and she carried out the task most admirably. More than 450 lady guests, radiant with elegance and distinction, gathered at the Lebanese-Syrian Club on the Zeitouneh, and viewed more than 150 dresses shown by Madame Jenny; some of those present, Lebanese and foreign ladies alike, volunteered to play the part of mannequins. It was a most successful affair, at which the ladies present were shown the latest that fashion has attained in Europe and the world.

On this occasion we may note that Madame Jenny, as a service to the middle class, supplies the ladies of society with ready-made dresses and women's wear of every kind, at moderate prices. It is the first time that modern ready-made fashions have been sold in Beirut at such prices.
