The First Lebanese Triplets of This Year

المثلث اللبناني الأول لهذه السنة

The representatives of the Johnson & Johnson and Glaxo companies presented Dr. Abou Rjeily with valuable gifts, because it was he who attended the delivery of the first Lebanese triplets of this year. Mr. Ahwal, whose family is of Sofar, told us of his family life with the simplicity familiar in the people of the Mountain. He said:

They were married eleven years ago, and in the first five years of their married life they were not blessed with children; but after the birth of their first son they broke the record, being blessed with eight children in five years. One of these children died while still small.

The mother and all three children are in good health. The combined weight of the three is 7,950 grams:

Fouad — 3 kilograms
Fadi — 2,600 grams
Farouk — 2,350 grams

To tell them apart, Dr. Abou Rjeily's nurses numbered them, and thus each in his turn is given the mother's milk.

So the Johnson & Johnson and Glaxo companies congratulate the happy parents, and seize this occasion to greet all the children of Beirut, in expectation of the coming contest for the baby of 1951.
