• During the past month the Child Welfare society opened its fourth dispensary, the "Abd al-Rahim Diab Dispensary," in the quarter of Ras Beirut. The first credit for its establishment belongs to the great benefactress Mrs. Shafiqa Diab, for it was she who rented the building, furnished it, equipped it with a pharmacy, and set aside for it the sum of 2,500 liras a year for its upkeep.
And now the "Welfare" is making ready to open a fifth dispensary in the quarter of Achrafieh.
Four dispensaries of the Children's Welfare Society are at present treating the sick among the poor free of charge and supplying them with the necessary remedies without payment.
Four dispensaries that speak for themselves of the efforts of the society's members and their devotion for the sake of a noble, lofty aim!!
Such is the way of the ladies of Child Welfare, at their head the society's president, Mrs. Ni'ma Qaranful, who during her presidency of the project has proved herself the best fitted for this post; for in the period of her presidency the Welfare project has grown a blessed growth and borne its good fruit. May God take her by the hand and make firm her steps, and the steps of her companions, on the path of this blessed humanitarian work.
