* Miss Nahla Marwa has returned from the United States after an absence of two full years spent in study, bearing a degree in elementary education, with the rank of B.S., from New York University. During her stay there she was active, delivering a number of lectures in which she spoke about Lebanon and the Arab countries; she was appalled at the extent of the American people's ignorance of the true state of affairs in this corner of the earth.
Educational circles in Lebanon hope that Miss Nahla Marwa will succeed in joining one of the teaching institutions, so that it may profit from her talents.
* Mrs. Marie-Louise Aziz. Born in Tripoli, Lebanon, 1928, of a French father and a Lebanese mother.
— She received her education in France; she commands five languages and trained as a specialist in Paris in the art of fashion designing.
— She supplied the fashion art column in the magazines 'The New Woman' and 'Daughter of the Nile' in the days of Huda Hanem Shaarawi.
— Mrs. Aziz gave up her work for family reasons, and here she is today, returning to create and devise the latest fashions.
— The reader will find samples of her drawings with the summer fashions article, pp. 40–41.
* At a charming party confined to family and close relations, the engagement was concluded of the young merchant Mohammed al-Banna to the highly refined Miss Aziza, daughter of the late Kamil al-Nu'mani. To the two noble betrothed, our most sincere congratulations.
