On the second of this July a celebration was held at the Nahda School (Shweifat) for the pinning of the Medal of Education, First Class, upon the breast of the school's headmistress, Mrs. Clarice Malik, on the occasion of the annual distribution of certificates under the supervision of His Excellency the Minister of National Defense, Emir Majid Arslan, His Excellency himself pinning on the medal.
The celebration was attended by His Grace the venerable prelate Bishop Elia Karam, the Honorable Governor of Mount Lebanon, the Honorable Director of Publicity and Publication,
and a large number of Lebanese personalities. The speaker of the celebration was the judge Mr. Emile Abi Samra, who was followed with a poem by Mr. Youssef Ghossoub, teacher of the Arabic language at the school.
We congratulate the headmistress of the school upon this great decoration, wishing her long life together with her literary struggle, that she may win the gold medal.
A select group of the enterprising ladies of Beit Chebab met and founded a charitable association whose aim is to do good in all its various fields, and which is composed of the ladies whose names follow:
