The Wedding of Mr. Inaam Raad

عرس الاستاذ انعام رعد

The groom's father, Tawfiq Bey Raad

★ On the fourth of last October, 1952, the marriage of Mr. Inaam Tawfiq Raad to the highly refined Miss Layla Naim Dagher was solemnized in the Beirut Evangelical Church, the crowning being blessed by the Reverend Ibrahim Dagher and the Reverend Isbir al-Makdisi.

The wedding of Mr. Inaam Raad was a wedding of youth: the groom is twenty-three and the bride twenty. And the wedding was the crowning of a love that lasted three years and began when the bride and groom were both students — the groom at the American University of Beirut and the bride at the Ahliah National College.

The wedding was marked at once by distinction and by simplicity. It was a civil affair of society, graced by an ample number of political personalities, deputies, men of the diplomatic corps, men of letters, and the flowers of society among the ladies' fair daughters. The crowning ceremony in the Evangelical Church, too, was elegant, with its hymns, the music of its organ, and the brief prayer pronounced by the Reverends Dagher and Makdisi.

The bride and groom were surrounded by a number of attendants: young ladies (Bride Maids) wearing gowns of red tulle, and young men (Best Men) wearing formal navy-blue suits. The groom's best man was his brother, Mr. Theodore Raad.

"The Woman's Voice" offers the Raad family its sincerest congratulations, wishing the young bride and groom a happy life, warmed by an ever-renewing love — and sweet little "squabs"!

★ On the eleventh of last October the festivities were completed with the marriage of Mr. Elie Youssef Mouji, employee at the Kattal stores, to the well-mannered Miss Dida Youssef Shukrallah.
