Among what the letter said:
"We who have heard Deputy Camille Chamoun declare repeatedly in the Chamber of Deputies: 'The Lebanese woman is worthy of every equality with man in all rights and privileges,' and 'The country that has entered into the membership of the United Nations must fulfill all the conditions agreed upon it, the foremost of them being equality in political rights between woman and man,' and 'I see no justification for this dispute; we must give the Lebanese woman these rights' — no doubt crosses our minds that President Camille Chamoun will inaugurate the era of his presidency by loosing these bonds from half the nation, so that woman may feel the full responsibility in an era of great responsibilities."
"The woman who is aware, and who feels what is asked of every individual in the era of reform, wants to be in the front rank of the soldiers, to see an era of which every Lebanese has long dreamed. We wish to feel that we have a homeland that begets in us sacrifice for the sake of the happiness of every one of its members. And we have every hope that the President, Emir Khalid Chehab, and the chosen ministers will smooth the way for this awaited reform."

* The work of the American Point Four goes on in a surge of steady expansion: every day we hear of new projects, of new appointments, and of missions abroad in the various branches of specialization. In fact this activity reached its peak in the recent period with the opening of the elementary school attached to the Lebanese University, under the direction of the German specialist Mr. Kobentski, assisted by Miss Nahla Marwa; and a select group of specialized women teachers has been entrusted with conducting the curriculum according to the most modern educational methods.
Likewise, Mrs. Faiza Maalouf Antiba has joined the work of
the cultural division of Point Four, together with Mrs. Edvick Jureidini Shayboub, who has submitted to the director general of the Ministry of Information her resignation from the post of "supervisor of the Women's Program" on Radio Lebanon — while she will continue to render her services to this magazine...
Accompanying the members of the Iraqi delegation that came to Lebanon to congratulate President Camille Chamoun were Mrs. Asia Wahba, president of the Iraqi Women's Union, and her husband, His Excellency Mr. Tawfiq Wahba, the scholar and statesman. No
sooner had the president of the General Arab Women's Union, Miss Ibtihaj Kaddoura, and her companions the members of the bureau heard of their presence than they hastened to fete and honor them. The shortness of their visit prevented the Lebanese Women's Union from inviting her, to make her acquaintance and honor her in a general way.
She therefore contented herself with inviting them to luncheon at the Hotel Bristol, in a charming party confined to the president of the General Arab Women's Union and the members of the bureau, and Mrs. Salwa Moumina, vice-president of the Lebanese Women's Union. The gracious visitor and her worthy husband promised to pay Lebanon a long visit next summer.
