Lebanon and in love of Lebanon.

And it pleases me here to recall, with much appreciation and admiration, the noble sacrifices and eminent services rendered by the Executive Committee of the Women's Organizations in the field of liberty, equality, and advancement, with the utmost sincerity, unmarred by any blemish. To you then, my ladies and sisters, members of the Committee, go the truest expressions of thanks and

the finest words of praise, for your labors have been crowned with a halo of light that shall remain upon the brow of the Lebanese woman through all the ages — the best witness and proof.

Long live our dear Lebanon!

Long live His Excellency the First President, and long live his government.

Long live the Lebanese woman — unfettered, free, and working!

Silvikrin — Dandruff Is a Danger Signal!

Dandruff is a danger signal!

The presence of dandruff between the teeth of your comb is a danger signal, for it means that the scalp lacks cystine, tryptophan, tyrosine, and other vital nourishing elements. It also means that your hair will gradually thin, and then you will be stricken with baldness unless you hasten to take decisive action now. There is no doubt that Silvikrin is the best protection against this danger, for it contains, in concentrated form, the fourteen elements necessary for the growth of hair. For if you massage your scalp with Silvikrin, the dandruff disappears; and as your hair is nourished with its natural elements, it returns to growing in strength, health, and beauty. Begin using Silvikrin today.

Silvikrin

Use pure Silvikrin in cases of severe dandruff, and likewise in cases leading up to the loss of hair. For daily dressing of the hair, use Silvikrin hair-strengthening lotion; but if the hair is dry, use Silvikrin lotion with oil.

The Reverend Tanios Saad — The Teacher Who Is Gone

When self-made men are mentioned, the Reverend Tanios Saad stands in the vanguard: a mind of broad thought, a mighty force, a rare energy, a sincere patriotism, and a strong, steadfast faith that difficulties and obstacles could not shake. With these arms he entered the battlefield of life, a soldier utterly devoted to the service of learning, humanity, and the homeland. Sixty-eight years he spent as a mighty fighter, a teacher faithful to his mission, and a tender, guiding father. He was one of the few who founded national schools in the day when Lebanon stood in direst need of schools. He fought in the war of knowledge against ignorance. He was one of those who laid the foundation of the educational renaissance in Lebanon, and from the very beginning he took care that the language of the country should hold the first place in his institutions. And if the Reverend Tanios Saad showed us in his life what service unto sacrifice can be, then the throng of graduates, men and women, of the National College in Choueifat, together with those who loved him and knew his merit, showed us in his death what fidelity and gratitude can be. This shining page fate has folded away. Though he has vanished from sight, he will remain immortal in history and in hearts, and his memory will remain immortal with the immortality of his schools and of the sincere, faithful, patriotic women and men they bring forth.
