The Artistic and Literary Competition
From the Editors

No sooner had the last issue reached our readers, carrying its warning that the term of the competition expires this month, than their zeal flared up all at once, and they hastened at last to send in the sweet pictures that had lain shrouded in darkness in cold drawers!

And because of the great number of these pictures that have reached us, and the impossibility of publishing them all at once, we have gone back on our first decision, and shall extend the term of the artistic competition one month more, so that all mothers may have the chance to enter their children.
