Your Hair Is the Crown of Your Beauty

شعرك تاج جمالك

Short hair is easy to manage; it lightens the burden of summer heat, and the waves of a broad curl give it a natural charm and an attractive luster. Do not forget that wisdom in dressing your hair lends beauty to your figure and gives your face softness and winsomeness; but if you are lazy in this respect, think twice before cutting your hair short, remembering that short hair needs double the care — the smaller the quantity, the more the attention that must be given it.

1 — In this picture appears the pleasing simplicity of dressing supple hair, with light, natural curls; the success of this operation depends on the right choice in cutting the hair with a light, soft curl.

2 — Here is another style for short, frizzed hair: after the hair has been well combed, do not leave it packed close, but fluff it out until it forms a crown of itself; it will thus need to be set in order again whenever it looks disheveled.

3 — This is the "Italian boy" coiffure, in which you comb your hair, changing it from a smooth crown into curls that turn toward the front. And to give it a touch of freshness in the spells of scorching heat, you can push it back from the sides.

No doubt long hair is more beautiful; but what are you to do if rain or swimming has spoiled your coiffure? Here it is your duty to hasten to set it right again. Nor should it escape you that long hair allows you a variety of styles, and the following forms spread before your eyes some of the fashions for the present season, so that nothing remains but your own choice.

4 — Leave no room for your hair to become disheveled in front: make haste to lift it off your face, then fasten it with a half-circular comb. Fold the back ends under, and your head will remain comfortable and tidy the whole day long.

5 — This coiffure is to be preferred on very hot days, since it lightens the weight of the hair that streams down upon the shoulders. Part your hair, then go over it with the brush and draw it back; fasten it with a rubber band or a special pin, knot it up again and fix it with a suitable bow.

6 — And here is a soft coiffure for the hot days as well, so that your hair shows with no curl at all: trace a long line from your temples to the nape of the neck, then twist each strand of your hair into a shape like a spiral and fasten it above the ears.

7 — To lift your hair off your neck and ears, comb it back, then twist it to one side and fasten it well with pins; it is also pleasing to add to it a garland of flowers, or a string of pearls, if you go out to a party or an evening entertainment.
