★ On the 27th of last August the charming Miss Edith, only daughter of Mr. George Shahla, was married to Dr. George Hanania.

The bride is a graduate of the American University of Beirut who pursued specialized study in England, and the groom holds a doctorate in chemistry from "King Ridge" University in England. The young bridal couple will travel to England in early October, where Dr. Hanania will take up his new post as professor of chemistry at "King Ridge" University.

The Woman's Voice, which thinks highly of the idea of such a modern marriage built on understanding and love, offers its congratulations to the bride and groom and to their families, and especially to Mr. Shahla and his lady wife.

★ Early last month the face of a baby boy appeared in the family of Mr. Wadih Haddad; they named him "Anis," and his birth was met with rejoicing and delight, seeing that he arrived after six sisters!! ★ It is the second time that hundreds upon hundreds of the friends and companions of Fouad Suleiman have made their way to Fih, the little village of the Koura.

The first time was a year and nine months ago, the day they came to bid him their last farewell; and today they came to his resting place and to revive his memory...

The gathering was marked by enthusiasm and appreciation for Fouad Suleiman, the immortal revolutionary poet and man of letters, who created among the rising writers a school with its own stamp and its own distinctions.

The ceremony was opened by the Deputy Mr. Ghassan Tueni; then there followed, one after another: Bishop Boulos al-Khoury, Sheikh Abdallah al-Alayli, Salim Ghantous, Suleiman Nasr, Edvick Jureidini Shayboub, Muhammad al-Baalbaki, Fawzi Ghazi, Atef Karam, and Abdallah Qobrosi.

The word of the departed's family was delivered by his eldest son, Rabih, eleven years of age, who drew tears from every eye in emotion and in appreciation of the gifts of this trueborn branch; and they saw in him a smiling gleam of hope. May God keep him, together with his two brothers Walid and Wissam, a consolation to their mother and to all their family.
