Congratulations!

مبروك !

They are: the poetess Nahida Fadli (B.A.) and Mr. Ghanem al-Dajani, and they signed their marriage contract on the 19th of last September... Congratulations!

Their love story began on "the green island," the home of Aphrodite, where they were colleagues for part of a year at the Near East Arab Broadcasting Station; and their love ripened in Lebanon, where she works as an announcer at the Beirut station and he works as an assistant in the music section of the Near East office.

The wedding party was distinguished by being a joyous paradise, gathering a bouquet of

close friends, at which Fairuz — our warbling nightingale — sang, and Wadih al-Safi sang.

The first light of dawn had all but broken into the house while the friends were still at their merriment, their good cheer, and their songs of rejoicing around the young bridal couple.

What could we possibly wish our two sweet friends but long lives brimming with love and happiness, ever renewed and ever springing forth anew??

★ Miss Marie Habib Naoum left Beirut by air on September 26 to spend a year in the United States, sent by the American Point Four program.

Miss Marie Naoum is a nurse who has practiced the profession of teaching at the American hospital in al-Mina (Tripoli). She will specialize in nursing education in Michigan — Detroit — and return to Lebanon to resume her humanitarian work, having gained broad knowledge and experience. To her go the wishes of "The Woman's Voice" for a blessed journey and a return not long delayed...

★ Our friend Mrs. Olga, wife of Mr. Shukri Shammas, one of the owners of the Contracting and Trading Company, has given birth to a baby girl named "Siham" — the flower that completes the lovely bouquet: Hiyam, Issam, Maram, and Nizam...

The mother, at her summer resort of Sofar, is enjoying full health with the sweet little one — Siham. To her our congratulations and our heartfelt wishes...
