Lebanon Signs the United Nations Convention on Women's Political Rights
★ On February 24, Dr. Charles Malik signed, in the name of the Lebanese government, the United Nations convention on the political rights of women. Lebanon is the thirty-fourth state to sign this convention, and may not much time pass before Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and all the Arab countries add their signatures, so that we may take a firm stand on our other civil and social questions, which lead in the end to absolute equality between man and woman.
