The Wedding of Mr. Fawzi Maalouf and Miss Rosette Chami

زواج الاستاذ فوزي معلوف والآنسة روزيت شامي

• At six o'clock on the evening of Saturday, June 26, the marriage of Mr. Fawzi Maalouf to Miss Rosette Chami was celebrated at the Capuchin Church in Ras Beirut. The wedding rites were performed by His Grace Bishop Chami, the bride's uncle, and His Grace Bishop Philippos Nab'a, Metropolitan of Beirut, with a company of priests.

The celebration gathered a great number of relatives and friends and was a marvel of organization: at six o'clock exactly, at the appointed hour, the bride arrived at the church and entered on her father's arm through the throng, advancing toward the altar where the groom stood waiting to receive her from her father. Meanwhile the strains of the organ echoed with the anthem "Here Comes the Bride."

Then the wedding rites proceeded according to the Catholic ritual, and when the ceremonies were concluded, the bride and groom and the attendants came out to the church courtyard to receive congratulations. The atmosphere was exceedingly merry, thanks to the sincere affection that the groom and the bride hold in the hearts of their friends and acquaintances.

The Woman's Voice extends its congratulations to the two young newlyweds and to their honorable families — and may the groom's best man and brother, Mr. Hilmi Maalouf, be next!
