The Wedding of Mr. Fawzi Maalouf and Miss Rosette Chami

• At six o'clock on the evening of Saturday, June 26, the marriage of Mr. Fawzi Maalouf to Miss Rosette Chami was celebrated at the Capuchin Church in Ras Beirut. The wedding rites were performed by His Grace Bishop Chami, the bride's uncle, and His Grace Bishop Philippos Nab'a, Metropolitan of Beirut, with a company of priests.

The celebration gathered a great number of relatives and friends and was a marvel of organization: at six o'clock exactly, at the appointed hour, the bride arrived at the church and entered on her father's arm through the throng, advancing toward the altar where the groom stood waiting to receive her from her father. Meanwhile the strains of the organ echoed with the anthem "Here Comes the Bride."

Then the wedding rites proceeded according to the Catholic ritual, and when the ceremonies were concluded, the bride and groom and the attendants came out to the church courtyard to receive congratulations. The atmosphere was

exceedingly merry, thanks to the sincere affection that the groom and the bride hold in the hearts of their friends and acquaintances.

The Woman's Voice extends its congratulations to the two young

newlyweds and to their honorable families — and may the groom's best man and brother, Mr. Hilmi Maalouf, be next!

The Wedding of Dr. Farid Flaihan and Miss Rida Nasr

• In the Evangelical Church of Beirut, on Saturday, June 12, the wedding ceremony of Miss Rida Nasr to Dr. Farid Flaihan was performed; the church was adorned with baskets of roses and carnations, and the sanctuary with pure, fragrant gardenias.

The bride, in her marvelous Parisian gown, looked like an enchanting princess, and her bridesmaids, in their sheer, brilliant dresses, like houris of paradise.

After the ceremony a charming reception was held at the Alumni Club, gathering no fewer than six hundred persons, who danced and made merry to the strains of music, the young bridal pair at their head; and they all ate of the great white wedding cake and drank glasses of champagne in abundance...

To the bride and groom go The Woman's Voice's loveliest congratulations and its wishes for a new life over which happiness hovers, its air untroubled by anything save the squalling of children!!
