• It has been the custom of the Young Muslim Women's Association, headed by Mrs. Habiba Shaaban Yakan, to invite the friends of the association, from time to time, to get-acquainted gatherings at the club's premises, in order to acquaint public opinion with the notable results this cultural and social institution has achieved in its various fields.
On Wednesday, February 16, it invited to a tea party His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Maurice Zouein, together with a large company of personalities, and placed in the guests' hands detailed statements of the steady and palpable progress the association had recorded in its last year, which called forth appreciation and thanks.
It appeared that the number of women attending the club this year reached 275 — of whom 68 for sewing, 25 for embroidery, 11 for typewriting, and 7 for the study of English.
The field of social activity includes the literary circle, a scouting branch, and a small library.
The Woman's Voice congratulates its sisters, the president and members of the Young Muslim Women, on these praiseworthy results, and wishes them lasting zeal and health, that they may continue to render their most useful services to growing girls.
