In haste, and without extensive preparations, the wedding of Miss Amal Khartabil to Dr. Adib al-Daoudi was celebrated on Wednesday, the 18th of May — the reason being that the bridegroom was appointed chargé d'affaires at the Syrian Embassy in London and was summoned to join his post at once... his bride to follow him on the first of July, after she receives her B.A. degree from the American University of Beirut.

The wedding party was a purely family affair, gathering only the nearest kin, at the house of her maternal grandfather. The slender bride, in her original gown sprinkled with blossoms, was the very picture of elegance, and was the loveliest flower among the baskets of roses...

"The Woman's Voice" congratulates the families of the bride and groom, foremost among them the bride's mother, our friend Mrs. Wadia Khartabil, and wishes the two young newlyweds a life bathed in happiness and lasting love...

• Mr. Bahij Hussein Tabbara and his wife invited guests, on the 20th and 21st of April last, to a reception at their home in Ras Beirut on the occasion of the marriage of their firstborn, Bahij, to the beautiful young Frenchwoman Simone Joseph Peron.

The bridegroom at present practices law with Mr. Fouad Boutros, and holds a doctorate in law, with distinction, from Grenoble, in Paris.

And it was in Paris, where he was finishing his higher studies, that he came to know his bride — a law student along with him — and there grew between them a love that ended as noble feeling best ends. The bride is now continuing her studies in Beirut to obtain her law degree.

The family of "The Woman's Voice," which counts the Tabbara family among its close friends, offers the deepest congratulations on these joys, and to the two young newlyweds the most generous wishes for a future radiant with blessing and felicity.
