Pakistan's Independence Day

On the occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day, Tuesday, August 14 last, Mr. Fuad Jafri, director of the Pakistani Information Bureau, gave a grand dinner party at his home on Sadat Street — Ras Beirut — attended by the pillars of the Lebanese state, the Minister Plenipotentiary of Pakistan Mr. Hussein Nasim, and many Lebanese personalities and journalists.

Mr. Jafri, his wife, and all their children showed the utmost solicitude in looking after the guests and welcoming them in the time-honored Eastern manner, which made the most pleasant impression among those present.

It is worth mentioning that both Mr. and Mrs. Jafri held, in the recent past, a distinguished position in journalism. We shall return to speak of this charming side of things.
