For the Sake of Your Beauty: The Importance of Shoes to Your Beauty!

A woman's feet are more beautiful than a man's

The feet are not merely a means of getting about; they are a home of beauty that sets off a woman's elegance in its finest aspect. And however bewitching a woman may be, her beauty remains incomplete if her feet are neglected and her shoes fail to express their wearer's personality and reflect her spirit.

It is observed that a woman's feet are, in general, more beautiful than a man's — and this, of course, has its reasons: a woman's coquetry, the care she gives her feet, her fondness for light shoes with many openings, and her inclination to change her shoes twice a day. This inclination in woman, besides conferring beauty upon her, confers health and vigor as well. It is likewise observed that the feet of the modern woman are considerably larger than they were in past ages, the reason being her devotion to athletic life in the open air and her greater consumption of calcium-rich foods and vitamins — all of which help the bones to grow and increase in size. And once this flaw became general, it ceased to be a flaw;

indeed, it came to be thought rather charming!

The fashions in women's shoes change every year, but what is agreed upon is that the best shoes are the simple ones, and that nothing shows off a woman's elegance like her shoe!

Woman, with her instinct, her delicate sense, and her penetrating eye, knows the particular style in which she feels at ease, and she chooses it even if its fashion has passed... When the shoe companies decided to abolish the openings at the front and back of the shoe, they did not succeed in carrying out this decision, because women went on wearing the open shoe for two reasons: first, for comfort in walking; and second, because the feet look smaller in an open shoe...

The clever woman, when she sets out to buy a new pair of shoes, takes care that they harmonize

The high heel is for formal occasions only

Women's shoes are designed for beauty and comfort together

with her personality and the type of her feet. If she is gay and playful, she chooses colored shoes with glittering straps to suit her temperament; and if she is reserved and sedate, she naturally prefers the shoe with few openings and a moderate heel. The slender lady of medium height prefers the high-heeled "toilette" shoe — and the reverse holds for the woman who is stout and heavily built. The "sporting" lady feels at home in simple flat-heeled shoes — and so on...

Yet this does not mean that every woman should wear only one kind of shoe suited to her particular temperament; the kinds must be varied to keep pace with occasions, and with the seasons as well. And this, no doubt, has its own special rules, which are not lost upon the elegant lady.
