The Autumn Art Exhibition

معرض الخريف الفني

The art exhibitions held by the Ministry of Education and Fine Arts in Lebanon have become one of our eagerly awaited traditions. The opening of this year's autumn exhibition had been expected at the end of last November, but owing to the present circumstances its date was postponed to December 14.

This autumn's exhibition will be held, as is its custom, in the halls of the UNESCO Palace. The representative of "The Woman's Voice" got in touch with Mr. Fouad Haddad, who supervises the organization of the exhibition, and understood from him that the opening ceremony is expected to be a grand and crowded affair, at which the decorations awarded last year will be pinned on the artists Youssef Howayek, Omar Onsi, Moustafa Farroukh, César Gemayel, and Saliba Douaihy, and new decorations will be conferred on the artists who distinguish themselves this year.

The exhibition will last a month, and important prizes will be distributed, among them the prize of His Excellency President Chamoun, the prize of the First Lady of Lebanon, and the prize of the Ministry of Education. Two famous art critics will visit the exhibition and will be among the panel of judges. Some hundred artists, Lebanese and resident in Lebanon, are expected to take part in the show...

And so until the next issue, in which "The Woman's Voice" will present an illustrated reportage on the autumn art exhibition
