The Wedding of the Month

The wedding of the month crowned Salwa Saad Musallam and Georges Fawwaz. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Farid Odeh at the Evangelical Church on the afternoon of Saturday, November 17.

The bride's elegance was assured by Joseph al-Haroufi, who dressed her in a resplendent gown to which he gave the name "The Flutter of the Wedding"; as for the maid of honor, Salma, sister of "Salwa," she looked marvelous in a lace gown with blue touches, made and designed by Rizk Sayegh, newly returned from Paris.

After the crowning, the guests came on to the groom's house, where Arlequin's delicacies and its cake awaited them.

The wedding of Salwa Musallam was a procession of youth and beauty, in which the people of Marjayoun had the largest share.

A Brother for Ziad Jureidini

News from Baghdad has it that Mrs. Jessie and Mr. Michel Jureidini were blessed on November 12 with a brother for their firstborn Ziad, and that the newborn and his mother enjoy complete health.

The glad tidings were conveyed by three-year-old Ziad, who telephoned his aunt, the editor-in-chief — a happy surprise, although the telephone conversation was not clear owing to the poor state of the lines, and

so the child's name did not come through clearly...

We congratulate Ziad's mother and father on the new baby, though we had been waiting for a "baby girl" who would have her brother's eyes and his winning charm!
