"The Martyr Sheikh Constantine Yanni," a book issued last month by the committee for the revival of his memory — a page of Arab national history — a collection of the speeches delivered concerning the deceased at the memorial ceremony held at the Dar al-Kutub in Beirut for the secretary of the League for the Honoring of Martyrs, who died in 1947, father of the esteemed woman of letters Mari Yanni Ata Allah.

In this book a select company of free, patriotic pens has cast threads of light upon some of what glittered in the life of the martyr Constantine Yanni, in word and in deed — such as lights the way in the national and human arena of struggle.

"They Shall Return"

It is the first time that Mr. Rashad Darghouth has ventured upon the writing of a play, though his successful excursions in the story, the essay, criticism, and the other arts of literature are well known.

The events of the play take place during the tourist season, and through his events the author aims at a profound national message calling for the return of the émigrés from the lands of the Mahjar... and the emigration of the residents!

Mr. Darghouth's ability shines forth in the portrayal of his characters and the analysis of their contradictory mentalities, which for the most part accord with truth and reality...
