The commencement exercises at Beirut College for Women were splendid, as usual. They were held on June 26, and the invited guests thronged the college's verdant garden. This ceremony was attended by many official and civic personalities, Arab and Western alike.

The speaker of the ceremony was the great thinker Mr. Albert Hourani, and after the distribution of diplomas to the graduates (they numbered 180 students: 115 sophomores, 65 bachelors of arts, and one student with a bachelor of science), His Excellency Sami Bey al-Solh, the Prime Minister, mounted the platform and surprised those present by decorating Miss Marie Sabri with the gilded Lebanese Order of Merit, in recognition of her distinguished

services in the field of education and instruction.

"The Woman's Voice" extends its warm congratulations to its friend Marie, wishing her decorations higher still.
