The Wedding of the Month

None of those close to Miss Odette Bayoud knew that this sweet, quiet young girl dreamed of a great wedding and of a gown ample in its flow and lavish in its elegance — until the afternoon of last August 24, when the courtyard of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint George rang with hundreds of people, family and friends, awaiting the lovely bride, who appeared with her radiant smile and her magnificent gown of sheer lace, made by Ranjis.

As for her bridegroom, Mr. Constantine Khammar, supervisor of education at the Refugee Relief Agency, he declared, in something louder than a whisper, that he wished he could have won his bride quietly, and been spared standing — a bridegroom, the focus of all eyes — amid these throngs!

More than one priest and man of religion blessed the crowning, and after the congratulations had been received the newlyweds vanished, then boarded the airplane to spend their honeymoon in the Turkish countryside...

Our sincere wishes to the two young newlyweds, Odette and Constantine, for a long life over which happiness and love hold sway... its atmosphere troubled by nothing but the crying of children!...

The Engagement of Nuha Salman

It seems that Miss Nuha Salman's joining the editorial family of "The Woman's Voice," and her specializing in the "Nutrition" section, has been a blessing to her!... For on July 24 last she became engaged to the young pharmacist Adel Maqsad, who serves as adviser on pharmacy to the Sudanese government. The wedding, however, will not take place before next spring, and the fiancée is preparing from now to accompany her life's partner to make their home in the Sudan... Our heartfelt wishes.
