Hala Miqati

The sweet bride Hala Miqati has returned from her honeymoon in the lands of Anatolia; she appears in the picture at the moment of stepping down from the airplane in Beirut with her bridegroom, Mr. Abd al-Fattah Jabr, owner of the biscuit factories.

The wedding party was a pleasant family affair at the house of the bride's father, the notable Abd al-Fattah Miqati. The bridegroom is a refined man, European in culture; Hala dazzled him with her elegance and her personality, so that he would not wait for her to finish her studies at Beirut College for Women!

The bride, no doubt, was taken with her bridegroom, but there was one tempting thing her eighteen years would not resist — her excessive love of biscuits!

To the bride and groom and to their families, our congratulations and our wishes for a life of plenty. (The Cover Picture)

her soul; and she wished her time had allowed for a deeper trial and more comprehensive sights...

Janet Abou Hamad Visits The Woman's Voice

She is a sweet brunette, Lebanese in features, but I stumble along with her in my French, for she speaks no Arabic... She is a daughter of Venezuela — fluent in Spanish and French.

She came down to Lebanon to represent the Venezuelan Sociological Association at the conference on social affairs held at UNESCO in Beirut, under the patronage of His Excellency President Chamoun, between September 23 and 29 last...

We spoke of her in the previous issue, saying that she was coming with her mother to her first homeland and that she was eager to become acquainted with her people... They showed her what The Woman's Voice had written about her, and the piece left a pleasant impression on her soul.

And she wished to visit us and
