As the last pages were going to press, there reached us news of the Girls' Education Society's celebration of its golden jubilee — a happy occasion which the magazine appreciates at its full worth.
Speaking at the celebration will be Mrs. Nazik Jureidini Sarkis, then Dr. Fuad Sarruf, then Mr. Charles Saad, and it is expected that some of the foundresses of this society will be decorated with medals, at their head the venerable elder, the president Zahia Saad. Until the next issue, then, when we shall speak of the occasion in fuller detail.
The return of Mrs. Nazik Sarkis to Baghdad — to rejoin the household of her daughter Jessie, wife of Mr. Michel Jureidini — was delayed so that she might attend the golden jubilee celebration of the Girls' Education Society, particularly as no one can take her place in speaking of the society's history, its works, and its struggle.
Mrs. Sarkis is the former secretary of the General Arab Women's Union, an active member of a number of women's associations, and the agent of The Woman's Voice in Iraq. She traveled with her two grandsons Ziad and Jihad on October 31 last, to resume her activity in spreading word of the magazine and working to strengthen it among the circles of Iraqi women — God's blessing go with you, O campaigning lady.

Mr. Zeidan is a friend of the Lebanese Women's League, remembering it kindly from time to time and never wearying of extending his assistance to it. A hearty welcome, then, to the two dear friends.
On the 29th of last October, Mr. Michel Touma, Commissioner of Tourism and Summering, left for
Washington to represent Lebanon at the international world tourism conference, which will be held for the first time in Washington, at the invitation of its government, at the beginning of November.
Worth mentioning is that Mr. Touma is the former president of the international tourism conference and is now a vice-president. He agreed to make the journey to attend the conference, despite his occupations and his troubles of health, in view of the importance of Lebanon's position in tourism — in a country like America, which feeds the world with tourists and is home to thousands of our emigrants. Mr. Touma will return to Beirut as soon as the conference ends, on November 8...
