To the Admirers of Layla Baalbaki's Writing

The Editors

الى المعجبين بادب ليلى بعلبكي · التحرير

The appeal we addressed in the last issue to the admirers of Layla Baalbaki's writing found the deepest echo among our readers. Several newspapers endorsed it, commented upon it, and joined their voices to ours.

We received from Mr. Victor Ghorayeb (Beirut) a gracious letter enclosing two hundred Lebanese liras; Mr. Georges Saydah likewise offered one hundred liras; and Mr. Youssef al-Khal has declared his readiness to contribute another hundred liras by deducting it from the printing costs, should Layla agree to have her book printed at the presses of the magazine Shi'r.

"The Woman's Voice" honors these noble sentiments in the breasts of the generous subscribers — an encouragement from them to literature and its people — and hopes that everyone whose soul inclines him to it will hasten to take part in this subscription, so that Layla's book may be sent to the press at once. Many thanks.
