Decorating Your Home This Summer

لتزيين بيتك هذا الصيف

The modern trend in home decoration this summer points to a radical change in the air! Whereas until only yesterday modern homes displayed all their art in mixing colors — now bright, now dark — today they incline to go back a century, to the fashions of the year '33, which gave "white" the first place in the home...

And in the choosing of furniture there is a swing back from the fashions and woods of the eighteenth century to the seventeenth, with all its solidity and simplicity. The task of the craftsmen is to renew this furniture by ingenuity in coloring or polishing,

and by securing the comfort required.

White, then, is the favorite color — but paired with a second color, usually blue, sometimes red or green or gray.

One notes the return of gleaming brass onto wooden furniture, as in the age of King Edward; but the novelty lies not in the style itself, but in the mixing of blue with white in the bedspread or the curtains.
