The Woman's Voice Competition — One Thousand Lebanese Liras for a Painting Depicting "The Lebanese Mother"

The magazine The Woman's Voice announces to Lebanese artists at large its grand artistic competition for a painting depicting "The Lebanese Mother," according to the following conditions:

1 – Paintings are to be sent to the following address: The Woman's Voice magazine – the Bundaq Building, Agrippa Street, Hawuz al-Sa'atiyah – P.O. Box 3490, Beirut.

2 – The date of the competition and the announcement of the result will be at the Autumn Exhibition of painting, November 1958.

3 – The result will be given by the jury appointed by the exhibition committee together with The Woman's Voice.

4 – The magazine, together with the Arts Department of the Ministry of Education and Fine Arts, will award the painter of the winning picture a token prize of one thousand Lebanese liras (2,000 L.L.).

5 – The magazine shall have the right to take ownership of the winning painting, to reproduce it in print, and to present copies of it to subscribers.

The Woman's Voice, which cares greatly about remaining faithful to its covenant with all our mothers, appeals to Lebanese artists to answer this sincere and ardent call, and to respond to it with all the inspiration that sacred motherhood holds for the tenderest meanings and the loftiest sentiments.
