Results of the Press Syndicate Election

The newspaper proprietors met at three o'clock yesterday afternoon in the hall of the Municipal Council, at the invitation of the eldest member presiding; twenty-nine journalists attended, representing the leading newspapers.

Our colleague Mr. Ramez Sarkis was called upon to preside over the electoral session, and the election was held by secret ballot. The winners were our colleagues Messrs.: Ramez Sarkis, Gebran Tueni, Yasser al-Adhami, Muhammad al-Baqir, Said Farkhieh, Zouheir Osseiran, Iskandar al-Riashi, Robert Abela, Fouad Qasim, Simaan Farah Seif, Hanna Ghosn, and Mustafa al-Muqaddam.

The winners then met to elect the officers of their body: His Excellency Mr. Gebran Tueni won the presidency, Mr. Muhammad al-Baqir the vice-presidency, Mr. Fouad Qasim the secretaryship, and Mr. Simaan Farah Seif the treasurership.
