The Ministry of Education Celebrates Mothers' Day

وزارة التربية تحتفل بعيد الامهات

The Minister of Education has issued the following circular:

The Government has designated the second Sunday of the month of May as a national holiday under the name of Mothers' Day, consecrated to honoring mothers and appreciating the efforts they expend in the upbringing of the nation's children.

The Ministry of National Education therefore requests the headmistresses and headmasters of the official schools, the women teachers and the men teachers, and all those who work in them, to take part in this praiseworthy undertaking by devoting Saturday, May 11 next, to glorifying the mother's works, implanting sentiments of devotion to her, and showing forth the sacrifices she makes for the comfort of her children and the love and tenderness she harbors for them.

It likewise desires that they seize every opportunity and employ every means to foster these sentiments and tend them, so that happiness may reign over the Lebanese home, and so that those tendencies may be destroyed which threaten to unloose the bonds of the family in an age over which materialism has run riot.
